The girls worked hard this week in the midst of the holiday excitement! We needed some more time to review the math concepts from unit 3 so the assessment will be at the start of next week.
They completed a festive 3WT yesterday that I want to share.
The girls have been working hard and using their creative talents to design some beautiful illustrations. I asked them to make an illustration that represents the holiday season to them. I then gave them an abstract noun to attach to it and they made paper tabs that are posted along the illustration for people to take. Here are the completed ones.

The girls have been excited since returning from Thanksgiving break and the Christmas spirit is upon us! We worked hard during this four day week and here are some curriculum updates and reminders.
Math: We are near the end of unit 3, which has been full of lots of concepts. The girls have learned the difference between prime and composite numbers, as well as the difference between multiples and factors. They have also been practicing multi-digit problems for multiplying and dividing. We will assess on this unit next week!
Reading: We started a new class novel called Bob and it is really great so far! Ask your daughter what makes one of the main characters so special! We are working through new vocabulary, inferencing, and comprehension as we read this sweet story.
Social Studies: The girls have learned lots of facts about westward expansion and we are near the end of this unit. We will finish up with a final project next week. When we return from winter break, we will begin our unit on the Civil War.
Thank you for all of your donations for stuffing the Christmas stockings. We collected so much and I am proud of the effort of our class!
