Here are some curriculum updates and reminders:
Math: The girls have worked through unit 1 and started to review the concepts in class. They will take a unit assessment next week and we are reviewing for it in class. On Monday, they enjoyed a Taylor Swift themed musical moment.
Vocabulary: They are learning the routines and activities with their wordly wise lists as they worked through list 2 this week. We will continue studying these words next week and they will take an assessment on this list independently on Thursday, September 26.
Reading: We finished a class read aloud of The Hundred Dresses. This a timeless story that shares messages about of bullying and discrimination in a straight forward manner. Children can learn about dealing with tough decisions like standing up for friends, fitting in, and ultimately how to show forgiveness. It is a fabulous story and encourages great class discussions. As a culmination project, the girls created their own dress design with a special message of compassion hidden somewhere within the design. They are a very creative bunch and did a fantastic job designing their dresses. We look forward to sharing more in our class chapel next Friday!
